Session 1: Exercise 1:
Identifying your Symptoms of Job Stress
Rate each of the following items in terms of how often the symptom was true for you in the last 3 months:
0= never
1= occasionally
2= somewhat often
3= frequently
4= almost always
Answers can be noted by writing them down on a piece of paper. Alternatively, all forms can be printed or saved. To print, right click on the form, and select 'print'. To save, right click on the form, and select 'copy image', then open a microsoft word document, right click again, and select 'paste'.

Add up each of your scores to give you a total score.

If your total score was 0 to 25, you are probably coping adequately with the stress of your job.

If your total score was 26 to 40, you are suffering from job stress and would be wise to take preventative action.

If your total score was 41 to 55, you need to take preventative action to avoid job burnout.

If your total score was 56 to 80, you are burning out and must develop a comprehensive stress management plan
This exercise is useful for determining the extent to which you are experiencing the symptoms of job stress, and is a warning sign for future problems.
