Stress Management Programme
Session 1: Exercise 2:
Identifying the Sources of your Job Stress
Rate your experience of your job during the past year, using the following scale:
0= never
1= occasionally
2= somewhat often
3= frequently
4= almost always
Answers can be noted by writing them down on a piece of paper. Alternatively, all forms can be printed or saved. To print, right click on the form, and select 'print'. To save, right click on the form, and select 'copy image', then open a microsoft word document, right click again, and select 'paste'.

Add up all your scores from within each category to give you a grand total.
-
If your grand total is over 100, you have more than an average number of job stressors.
-
If your grand total is 130 or higher, you have an unusually high number of job stressors.
For this exercise, it is also important to break your scores down into the categories given. Identify the categories in which you scored 12 or more. This will help you to recognise the areas that are the source of the most stress for you personally (e.g., work overload). In this programme, we want you to give consideration to these general areas, as well as to your specific stressors, which we will discuss in exercise 3.
