Session 2: Exercise 4:

Breathing and Body Relaxation Exercises

Relaxation techniques are a great way to help with stress management. Relaxation is a process that decreases the effects of stress on your mind and body. The videos in this session focus on relaxing your breathing and your body. These exercises are important for decreasing the negative effects of workplace stress. 

 

You can practice these exercises as often as you like, and can access them by logging on to this website at any time. We recommend practicing these relaxation techniques at least 3 or 4 times a week.

When you have completed these relaxation exercises, this concludes Session 2 of the stress management programme. Before the final session next week, I would like you to continue to challenge negative thoughts about work using the coping statements provided, and to practice these relaxation exercises 3 or 4 times a week. I would also like you to implement a rewards system for yourself, and write a personal contract including steps towards changing negative patterns of behaviour at work.
